There is no Space Without the Body
improvisational proposals with christopher roman and ildikó tóth
through our experiences with various dance forms as well as our collaborative partnership with william forsythe, our sense of clarity and understanding about the necessity of form through communication has been greatly informed. the multitude of ideas and understanding the ways in which communication and interpretation differs from person to person is extensive. the proposition of this workshop is to offer simple tools as point of departure, to share the individual outcome with the use of these tools and to utilize the differences of subjective interpretation as a way to better understand and communicate. a tag team from our two varyingly different perspectives in form and epochs of forsythe’s work hope to contribute to a meaningful representation of the myriad of possibilities and the fact that differences can bring us together not separate us. christopher will begin the workshop for the first 2 days, participating and giving way to ildikó’s insights the third, culminating in the participant’s renderings the fourth day.
